Help shape the next Just Good Wine

Version 2.1 is nearly ready, and it needs winemakers to try it on real batches before it goes to the App Store. It's free to join, and you can leave whenever you like.

For iPhone and iPad on iOS 17.6 or later. Apple Watch is optional.

What's new to try

In this beta

Everything in the current app, plus the features below. Unlimited batches are unlocked at no charge while you're testing.

Ask Siri

“What's due in Just Good Wine?” Hear what needs doing, check on a batch, log a gravity reading or tick off a reminder, hands-free.

Spoken briefings

A gentle one-line nudge in the morning and afternoon, and a full run-down in the evening, read out by your HomePod or iPhone.

Apple Watch app

See your batches, log a reading and mark reminders done from your wrist. It answers Siri on its own, without your iPhone nearby.

A fuller iPhone app

Edit a batch, change its stage, record tasting notes and bottling, duplicate it, save it as a recipe and export a report, all from the phone.

Fix a reading

Typed 1.900 when you meant 1.090? Touch and hold any reading to correct it or remove it.

Sync across devices

Your batches stay in step between iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch through your own iCloud.

Where your eyes help most

What we'd like you to test

Use the app the way you normally would, on a real batch if you have one going. These four things matter most:

  1. Start a batch and log a week of readings

Was anything confusing, slow, or missing? Did the chart and the alcohol estimate match what you expected?

  2. Talk to it

Try “Hey Siri, what's due in Just Good Wine?” on your iPhone, Apple Watch or HomePod. Did Siri understand you, and was the answer useful?

  3. Use two devices

Log something on one device and look for it on another. How long did it take to appear? Did anything fail to arrive?

  4. Check our numbers

If you know your way around SO₂, nutrients or step feeding, try the calculators against your own figures and tell us where they differ.

How it works

  1. Install TestFlight. It's Apple's free app for trying beta versions, available on the App Store.
  2. Tap the join link on this page from your iPhone or iPad, then tap Install in TestFlight.
  3. Send feedback whenever something strikes you. Take a screenshot and choose Share Beta Feedback, or open TestFlight and tap Send Beta Feedback. You can also write to support@justgoodwine.net.

Good to know

  • It's a beta. Expect the occasional rough edge. Keep a note of any reading that matters to you until you trust it.
  • Your batches are yours. They're stored on your devices and in your own private iCloud, and they carry over when the finished version is released.
  • The unlock is free during the beta. Purchases in TestFlight aren't charged. In the released app, unlimited batches is a one-time purchase.
  • Each beta build expires after 90 days. TestFlight tells you when a newer one is ready.
  • Apple Watch needs watchOS 27 for the watch app.
Honest feedback is the whole point

“This confused me” is as useful as a bug report. If you gave up on something, we'd like to know where.
